Grade Import to Workday

This guide will show you how to set up your grade center for Grade Import to Workday.

Important: Important: This guide requires that you have a configured Overall Grade Column.

Part 1: Set & Your Grade Schema

The first crucial step of importing your grades is to check your Grade Schema to ensure the proper letter grades will be sent over to Workday.

1. Access your Gradebook and click the Settings Cog.

The course navigation bar with the gradebook item in the middle and the settings cog to the right.

2. Click Manage Grade Schemas.

A popup after clicking the cog icon reveals the Manage Grade Schemas link.

3. Check the existing Grade Schema (named Letter).  Edit the existing grading schema or copy/add a new grading schema if necessary (if you need to use more than one grade schema in a course).

The Grade Schemas page showing list of available grade letters and grade ranges that can be altered by the instructor.

Part 2: Ensure Overall Grade Uses the Correct Schema

It is important to ensure your Overall Grade Column is configured to display the correct schema. If you skip this step, Workday may receive the wrong letter grade.

1. Return to your Gradebook and click the Settings Cog.

The course navigation bar with the gradebook item in the middle and the settings cog to the right.

2. Scroll down and click Manage overall grade settings.

The manager overall grade settings link appearing after clicking the cog icon.

3. Check the drop-down to make sure it matches the schema name, part 1.

The grade schema dropdown menu appearing on the Overall grade Settings page.

Part 3: Make Sure All Blackboard Grades Are Posted

It’s important to make sure that all grading is done and posted. View your overview tab to check your Gradebook Status.

1. Click Gradebook and the Overview tab.

The grade navigation menu revealing the Gradebook Page. After clicking the Gradebook, the faculty has the option to click Overview just below the navigation bar.

2. Check to make sure there are no submissions that need grading, and Post grades by clicking Post Now for each unposted activity.

Part 4: Send Grades to Workday

Now you’re finally ready to send your course grades to Workday.

1. From your course Content page, navigate to the Details & Actions menu and click Books & Tools.

The details and action menu with the Books and tools link appearing as the fifth item in the list.

2. Click Grades to Workday

The books and tool menu featuring the grades to workday action link.

3. Click the Checkbox then Click Extract Grades.

4. A pop-up will appear; click Extract Grades.

5. A success message should appear at the top.

6. There may be a delay for your grades to appear in Workday Grade Roster. Check after 24-48 hours. We are working on a scheduling process that should speed this up in the future. If the grades do not appear in Workday, reach out to eLearning@uams.edu.
