We have recently integrated Kaltura, a multimedia platform, into our Blackboard environment. This will make managing videos in Blackboard easier and more intuitive.
With Kaltura + Blackboard integration, you can:
- Video Publication: Embed your Kaltura videos into your Blackboard courses, ensuring seamless access without consuming your course storage allocation or sending students to another site.
- Integrate Zoom: You can configure Zoom recordings to transfer directly to your course’s Kaltura Media Gallery and My Media page.
- Edit Videos: You can trim or cut out unnecessary portions of your video.
- Edit Captions & Transcripts: All videos are machine captioned and include a searchable & downloadable transcript. You can review and edit captions to ensure accuracy directly from Blackboard.
- Search within your Videos: Kaltura videos offer a built-in search function, empowering both students and instructors to locate specific words or phrases spoken within the video. This feature enables direct navigation to the relevant video section containing the searched content.
- Create Video Quizzes: You can add interactive elements, such as quiz questions, to your video. Video quizzes can be tied to a grade in Blackboard for a low-stakes assessment.
- Foster Interaction: Encourage student interaction through video assignments, discussions, and collaborative projects. Video submissions enable students to showcase their understanding in diverse and creative ways.
