Educators today are having to contend with all sorts of distractions when it comes to in-class instruction. If you can’t beat them, why not join them? Use Kahoot! to engage your students and gamify learning.
Kahoot! is a learning platform that allows you to create custom quizzes on the material you choose. Participants use their cell phones to connect to the session and answer questions in real-time. For each correct answer, they are awarded points and the winners are announced once the game is finished. It is a great way to use educational technology in the classroom to captivate the interest of students.

Hello! I’m Zac with the Office of Educational Development and, today, we’re talking about how to create a Kahoot! — let’s get started.
Kahoot! Is a learning platform that allows you to gamify learning. It’s a useful in-class tool that engages students and makes instruction fun.
To start using Kahoot, you must go on their website and make a free account. Once this is done, you will be taken to the Kahoot! Dashboard
In the top right-hand corner of the dashboard, click the “create” button. Select “new Kahoot!” on the pop-up
You can begin by typing your question at the top. After this is finished, fill in your answers at the bottom, next to the colored buttons. Click the circle on the right side of the answer button to choose the right answer.
If you want, you can add a background from your computer.
After that, you are free to adjust the timer as needed. Once this is done, create more slides as needed.
Congratulations — you now know how to create a Kahoot! If you need any assistance, please visit the website on-screen.
