Beginning Spring 2019, UAMS instructors have access to the Blackboard Attendance tool.
What does it do?
The Attendance feature allows instructors to track attendance on a single page within their Blackboard course. From this page, an instructor can mark students as present, late, absent, or excused. Instructors can do this from their classroom workstation computer or their mobile device. Instructors also have the ability to assign a grade to attendance.
How does it help you?
In the past instructors had to rely on third-party software, workarounds in Blackboard, or paper to track attendance. Blackboard’s Attendance feature allows instructors to track attendance from one place. The list of attendees is automatically populated with registered student’s names.
Attendance enables you to quickly bring a student into focus so you can look at his/her attendance record. To do this, simply click on the student’s name or profile picture from the attendance tool.
Instructors can also access an overall view of attendance to gather basic attendance metrics. From the Overall Attendance page, you can gather the average attendance score, percent of perfect attendees, percent of students with average or above attendance, percent of students below average attendance.
Track various attendance metrics from the Overall Attendance page.
How can you use it today?
You can access attendance by navigating to Control Panel > Course Tools > Attendance
