How to Turn On Dark Mode in Microsoft Word

Transcript

Hello, I’m Zac with the Office of Educational Development and today we’ll be talking about How to Turn on Night Mode for Microsoft Word. Let’s get started!

As you can see, the default theme of Microsoft Word is pretty bright — this can be particularly annoying after spending hours at the computer, grading papers. Let’s give our eyes a break by activating Night Mode.

First, select the File tab on the Ribbon. When this opens, select Account from the menu on the lower left-hand side.

This opens the Account screen, where we can change various things about our Microsoft account. What we’re looking for is the Office Theme dropdown. From here, select the Black theme. Then, click the arrow in the top left-hand corner to go back to the document.

You may be wondering if this change will affect the way your document is printed. To check, use the keyboard shortcut ctrl + p to see the Print Preview for your document.

Congratulations! You now know how to turn on Dark Mode on Microsoft Word. If you need more help, follow the link on the screen for more assistance.
