Presentation Essentials Online Course

This new course is appropriate for any UAMS faculty, student, or staff member who wants to improve their presentation skills.  The course addresses effective design, participant engagement, credibility, and professionalism.  Concepts are applicable to many types of presentations, including lectures, meetings, conferences, and workshops.

The four narrated, interactive lessons include:

  • “The Four Essentials” (10 min.)
  • “Designing Your Presentation” (30 min.)
  • “Designing Your Slides” (30 min.)
  • “Delivering Your Presentation” (20 min.)

Users can self-enroll and complete the course at their own pace.  When participants earn the four badges and a Course Completion certificate, they are eligible to schedule a practice session with feedback from experienced coaches.

To self-enroll:

  1. Go to Blackboard and log in with your UAMS credentials.
  2. Go to the My Communities tab>Community Catalog and click on the Self-Enrollable Communities folder.
  3. Find the Presentation Essentials course.  Hover over the OED_PresSkills101 Org ID, click on the drop-down menu, and click Enroll.
  4. When you have successfully enrolled, the course will appear in your My Communities>Community List.
