Benefits of Fellow-Level Membership
Members at this level:
- Are eligible to apply for Educators Academy grant (in development).
- Can receive individualized mentoring for educational scholarship.
- Learn to peer review teaching and teaching materials.
- Recognition in promotion and tenure applications.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this level, applicants must:
- Be a UAMS employee ≥ 2 years.
- Provide evidence of scholarly teaching.
- Have evidence of completion of at least seven of the UAMS Education Curriculum workshops, or comparable experience.
Required for Application
Include the following items in your application packet. Please keep a copy of the completed packet for your records.
- Completed membership application and agreement
- Curriculum vitae
- Support letter from department or division chair
- Teaching philosophy statement
- Evidence of scholarly teaching
- Certificates of completion for at least seven workshops in the UAMS Education Curriculum, or comparable experience
Expectations at the Fellow Level
At this level, members are expected to:
- Contribute at least five hours annually to the Educators Academy through serving as a peer teaching reviewer and/or teaching materials reviewer, presenting on education topics to other UAMS employees, and/or conducting Educators Academy committee work.
- Attend and graduate from the Teaching Scholars program or comparable experience.
- Complete an additional three or more workshops from the UAMS Education Curriculum.
